Mentoring Support
The charity provides a seamless service from custody to community for prison leavers returning to the rural localities served by the charity. The service is non time limited and support is given with areas such as further education, employment, debt, health, life and social skills and addictions. Mentees are encouraged to participate in constructive use of time and have access to the charity educational courses accredited with the OCN as well as opportunities to volunteer in the charity shops.
Referrals for community based mentoring for those who had served a custodial sentence within the past 12 months are also afforded the same opportunities as those mentored ‘through the gate’. Referrals are received from probation, police, voluntary and statutory agencies alongside self and family referrals.
